FINANCE ASSISTANT REQUIRED – Skipton

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Assistant to join our small team. This role is essential in supporting the financial operations of the organisation, ensuring accuracy in our purchase and sales ledgers and capturing job costs accurately, as well as assisting with various administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail, contributing to the overall efficiency of our financial processes. You must have experience of working in an accounting/ financial/ bookkeeping role.

Duties

Assist in the preparation of financial reports, weekly, monthly and quarterly.

Maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely data entry into accounting software.

Support the processing of purchase and sales invoices, payments, and receipts.

Reconcile control accounts & bank statements and assist with month-end and year end closing procedures.

Provide administrative support to the team where required, including filing documents and managing correspondence.

Skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis.

Experience of working with accounting software (experience with Xero and Workflow Max is advantageous).

Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work.

Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.

An excellent understanding of financial principles and practices, as well as some form of financial qualification e.g AAT.

We are looking for a full-time post holder, but will consider part time applications. There will be 1 Saturday of working per month, of which a day in lieu will be given. We offer good rates of pay, unpaid leave / paid leave and a yearly bonus. We are a family business and have been trading for 27 years and pride ourselves on the highest levels of craftsmanship and design.
