Furniture Designer Richard Mason worked closely with the client, their excellent local builder Paul Dixon and interior designer Ashon House Design on remodelling several rooms in their beautiful country home. The client was keen to use the natural features and colours of the beautiful Lake district countryside as a starting point but still wanted the latest in modern appliances. They achieved their goal by combining retained traditional features including re-laid, underfloor heated original slate floor, refurbished beams and AGA alongside contemporary cabinetry and high-tech appliances creates a wonderful modern rustic kitchen. The fridge, freezer and wine store are from Sub Zero Wolf with other appliances from Miele, Aga and Quooker. The handmade, painted cabinetry has solid oak interiors and is finished in Como Blue and Double Silver from Zoffany with a Super White Quartzite worktop.

This boot room project is part of a utility and laundry room, and the dedicated storage really helps keep these hardworking areas tidy. The furniture throughout is finished in Blue Blood from Paint and Paper Library.

Designed and handmade with details in walnut that include the bench seat, hanging pegs, open shelving and cabinetry handles. The reclaimed slate floor and wooden board panelling completes the modern country look.

Designed to be part of the living room, this informal office space includes a desk that has an American Black Walnut worktop with the frame and doors of the cabinetry finished in Fired Earth Amber Gris. The tongue and groove panelling to the back of bookcase is painted in Fired Earth colour Safflower and tones beautifully with the worktop. The handles from Finesse Hardware are called Melton Pewter.

Work is less demanding in such gorgeous and harmonious surroundings.

Utility room finished in Blue Blood from paint and Paper Library and includes appliances from Miele, stainless steel sink from Franke, walnut handles handcrafted in our Skipton workshop and a Super White Quarzite top. The walnut handles tie in beautifully with the boot room area and the room also features lots of built in cabinetry for storage. Gorgeous country cottage look with a reclaimed stone floor.

The curved doors of the vanity includes in-door storage and has v-board detail to complement the bathroom panelling providing a sophisticated yet rustic look. Finished in soft grey green with natural, locally sourced slate top and stainless steel, surface mounted bowl, cabinet handles from Alberry Chloe and taps and accessories from Samuel Heath Landmark collection.

We designed and handcrafted the furniture for a bunk room as part of a holiday home renovation. The bunk room was created in a small annexe, to enable the owner’s older children to have friends come and stay as a group.

The beds are full size, with clever built in storage shelving behind each bed and pull-out drawers below, plus some hanging space to the sides. The v board wood panelling and reclaimed oak timbers give this space a rustic feel, perfect for country breaks.
