Pale grey bedroom

We redesigned this master bedroom for clients who wanted to create a serene and airy, contemporary space with lots of storage. The bedroom was accessed by a dark passageway with a low ceiling, which raised questions of how best to use this awkward entrance space to the main room.

We worked closely with our own in-house builder to work out a way of letting more natural light into the entranceway. Light tunnels were installed in the roof along the passageway which immediately transformed this space. As the client wanted lots of storage options, we used the space along the passageway to create a dressing room. Cabinetry was installed along this wall, with stunning walnut interiors, interior lighting and glazed doors finished with grey smoked glass and bronze handles from Ged Kennett. Pale grey pendant lighting was installed along the passage to add to the feeling of luxurious light and space.

In the main space in the master bedroom, the room was designed around the clients existing bed they wanted to keep. Fitted wardrobes were installed on either side of the large room, creating his and hers storage space. The cabinetry was finished in Paint & Paper Library ‘Lead’ to coordinate with the dressing room and featured the same handles. The illuminated wardrobe interiors were handcrafted from walnut and designed for the individual, with their preferred mix of hanging space, open shelving, drawers and pull out shoe storage. The bedroom also features smart home technology by Control4 to control the lighting, Q motion blinds, recessed tv and audio. Other furniture includes a dressing table, freestanding mirror and upholstered foot bench, all of which were designed and made in our workshop.
